BLACK GIRLS MISSING

There is a crisis in America that is plaguing urban communities country wide. With little to no media coverage or reportings there is approximately 64,000 black women and girls missing. So why are these young black women and girls missing, who’s taking them, and why is there little to no media coverage addressing this issue? It’s hard to answer the WHY, but many signs point to human trafficking and many of these cases are written off as runaways. As one would imagine, with such a large number of black women and girls missing the WHO is inconceivable. However, we do know that human trafficking is very prevalent nationwide and when it comes to this heinous crime no one is safe. If you’re wondering how such a staggering number of black women and girls have gone missing with little to no media coverage…I’ll tell you WHY. The ugly truth is, in America black men and women are often portrayed as criminals rather than victims. This type of prejudice treatment makes it difficult to impossible for our society to shed an ounce of empathy for someone we’ve thought of as being a criminal or written off as a runaway.
